Sony Interactive Entertainment has been releasing popular gaming titles exclusively for the Playstations.

At the latest, Sony has decided to release the Playstation exclusives for PC as well. Such a decision is highly motivating for the investors and gamers as the gaming market has now portrayed unprecedented advancements in the recent years.

In 2020, there were an estimated 1.75 billion PC gamers worldwide, up from 1.5 billion PC gaming users in the previous year. Despite slowing revenue growth, PC gaming remains very popular and digital storefronts like Steam or the Epic Games Store making PC gaming titles accessible for gamers worldwide.

As per the report by Statista on the 'Number of PC gamers worldwide 2008-2025'.



Though the existence of piracy, PC gamers are now more inclined into buying original games in the online platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, Origin and others.

Multiplayer and co-op playing modes have raised the interest of gamers to let them get more inclined into buying original copies rather than downloading the pirated ones. From online streamers in Twitch or YouTube, even most famous personalities like Henry Cavill shows such growth in the gaming interest.


Sony plans a transformation from PlayStation's current console-centric approach to a future where large elements of the community extend beyond the console to PC / Mobile, VR, Cloud and Metaverse.

Most popular releases from the PS4/PS5 genre as in Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War and Days Gone are recently most loved by the PC gamers. Even more excited with the upcoming release title of Spiderman Remastered, Last of Us and Uncharted : Legacy of Thieves, PC gamers are being driven crazy.


Most importantly Sony's expansion into the PC gaming sector would increase it's revenue to a substantial amount with an expected YoY growth of $300 Million from $80 Million as of 2021.
